Sergey Belousov

baritone

Graduated from Vitebsk State Music College (now I.I. Sollertinsky College) in 1989. After serving in the army, he taught music, and then studied at the Belarusian State Academy of Music, from which he graduated in 1998. He studied under the guidance of the Honored Artist of the BSSR, Associate professor of the Academy of Music V.I. Skorobogatov.

The voice is a dramatic baritone. She has a velvety, voluminous and strong voice over the entire range. The rich timbre of the voice is characterized by strength and brightness, and the nature of the sound in the lower register is close to the bass, which allows him to master a diverse repertoire – from heroic and patriotic to characteristic and comic.

In 2000, he joined the troupe of the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. In 2003, he was invited to the St. Petersburg Opera Theater, and also collaborated with the St. Petersburg Opera Theater. Rimsky-Korsakov and the Rostov Musical Theater. He has toured Russia and abroad.

In 2011, he was invited to the newly opened Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theater. He participated in the production of the opera Boris Godunov by M. Mussorgsky: he performed the leading role of Boris, for which he was awarded a letter of thanks from Governor A. Zhilkin. This performance in Astrakhan was staged not only on the stage of the theater, but also in the "living" historical scenery of the Kremlin. The architectural ensemble turned out to be a successful stage venue. The performance received positive reviews from critics and the audience. The titular party of Sergey Belousov was also noted as "absolutely wealthy".

The artist's repertoire includes opera roles: Rigoletto – J. Verdi's Rigoletto, Germont – J. Verdi's La Traviata, Gryaznoy – N. Rimsky-Korsakov's The Tsar's Bride, Ebn-Khakiya – P. Tchaikovsky's Iolanta, Tomsky – P. Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades, Pan Golova – P. Tchaikovsky's Cherevichki, Boris – M. Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov, and others.

Since August 2014, he has been a soloist at the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic, where he has participated in concerts and productions, and collaborates with the Vitebsk Virtuosi Balalaika Octet and the Symphony Orchestra.
